    SVMS Newsletter 10.16.18

Hello Dolphins!  I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful fall weather.  I would like to share a lot of important information with you all.  Please read on!

    • Drive For Schools-this is our last week for ticket sales. All money goes directly to the SVMS PTA!  We have collected $2000 in donations of our $3000 goal. Let’s go for it!

    • PTA Staff Luncheon:  Please help celebrate our SVMS Staff with a Dia de los Muertos/Mexican themed Lunch on Tuesday, October 23rd. Please sign up using the link below.   Don't have time to make something for next Tuesday's SVMS Potluck but still want to help. You can venmo Carolyn Auman and she will add your contribution to her shopping budget.  Contact at

    • Instructional Aide Needed:  SVMS has a vacancy for a 4 hour/day instructional aide position.  If you are interested, please contact Mary Lonhart,

    • 10.23.18, Tuesday, the SVHS Thriller Zombie Dancers will be here at lunch to promote the amazing Haunted House.  For some students, this can be a bit unsettling. We will have plenty of supervision in the Quad and students are welcome to be in all other campus areas if the zombies are too frightening.

    • Halloween Costumes-students may wear costumes on 10.31.18 if they so choose.  Costumes must meet dress code requirements, have no masks nor weapons.

    • No school on 11.1 and 11.2.  11.1, Thursday is a professional development day for teachers and a non-student day.  11.2, Friday is a non-school day district-wide.

    • Trimester 1 ends 11.16.  Please be sure to check your child’s grades in Illuminate and contact the teacher directly with any questions you may have.

    • Gabriella’s Snow Day needs student volunteers.  12.1.18.  Link to Volunteer information:  Contact Michelle Stewart with questions (

    • Construction Progress:  7 new classrooms will open up on Monday, 10.29.18!!  The portables on Dolphin Court will slowly be disassembled and disappear.  We hope to have the blacktop basketball courts re-opened after Thanksgiving.  Our new Dolphin Diner will open up on 11.5.18, as well as our new locker rooms.  The gym proper won’t quite be ready then but we will have access to these other new spaces that are a part of the gym building.

    • Volunteers needed 10.27.18, 8am.  We need to move fence panels/green screens to encase the portables for clean-out and removal. Fence panels are large and heavy.  We greatly need 8-10 strong people to help us with this task. Please email Mary Lonhart ( if you are able to help!

Thank you again for all your support!  Please contact me with any questions you may have.
